If you’re planning on buying a home in Broward County (Ft. Lauderdale, Wilton Manors, Oakland Park, Pompano Beach, Lighthouse Point, Lauderdale by the Sea, etc.) read this!
There’s something you may not know about your future Broward County property tax bill.
Be sure to go to the Broward County Property Appraisers website, www.bcpa.net, BEFORE you go under contract to see what your actual property tax bill may be. bcpa example
Go to the property you’re thinking of purchasing and click on TAX (see photo to left). Then under Bill History, go to 2014 Annual Bill and click on that.
Go all the way to the bottom to NON-AD VALOREM assessments. You may be in for a big surprise addition to your estimated property taxes.
The one I pulled up had an extra $2,171 in non-ad valorem assessments added to their yearly bill! (see below)
Here on the East side of Broward County we don’t have a lot of newer developments, but they are here and there, and these are the ones most likely to have these added hidden assessments.
